It Started Here…

Giamela’s opened in 1964 as a tribute to our Jersey roots and a lifelong love of great subs.

From the very beginning, it was a family operation. Grandma Giamela made the meatballs at home, then took the bus to the original shop to serve them herself. That same spirit — hands-on, behind the counter, and part of the neighborhood — continues today.

Over the years, locals have made traditions out of Pepper Steak and Pastrami sandwiches.

Still here.
Still family-run.
Still serving the neighborhood.

Proudly serving Los Angeles for over 60 years.
